Shannon Collins

Shannon Collins is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Lightwork Enterprise, where she develops workforce development technology and tools for school districts, organizations, and local government offices. In 2020, Shannon founded Lightwork Enterprise with her husband, Gregory Collins, and the company has since redesigned the entire workforce development curriculum for the Maryland Department of Labor correctional education program. 

Shannon currently serves as an NSF I-Corps co-instructor and industry mentor for both the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast NSF I-Corps Regions. She holds a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Miami and graduated Summa cum Laude from Howard University, where she was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. 

Shannon is one of the first members of TEDCO’s Inaugural Open Institute for Black Women Entrepreneur Excellence program and serves as an education committee member for the Harford County Chamber of Commerce. She has been featured in Technical.ly and is currently pursuing an NSF SBIR Phase 1 grant to develop AI-driven edtech software for K-12 career technical education programs.
