Sonura Care Inc., a startup founded by recent graduates from the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science, is developing the Sonura Beanie, which protects infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICU) from harmful noise while promoting cognitive development.
Sonura participated in the Penn I-Corps program and won the Silver Award and $25,000 at the 2025 UCSF-Stanford Pediatric Device Consortium Accelerator Pitch Competition, held on March 17, 2025, at Stanford University. The event featured ten innovative pediatric health projects competing for funding, expert guidance, and prototyping support, and is rooted in the Stanford Biodesign methodology, which supports early-stage medical device innovation.
Sonura also participated in the NSF I-Corps Mid-Atlantic Hub’s I-Corps Next 2023 cohort.
